Spiekerboks is no ordinary pair of jeans; it is a pair of jeans with impact! Groningen Werkt Circulair is working on a closed-loop system for textiles, where textile waste becomes a raw material for new textiles and we create jobs that generate a positive impact. Every pair of Spiekerboks jeans is made from 100% recycled cotton: 50% from old, unwearable jeans sorted in Groningen, and 50% from T-shirt cutting scraps from Belgium. The yarn is produced in Flanders and Northern France, and the denim is manufactured in Italy; the final jeans are then made in the Northern Netherlands, designed by Dutch and primarily Groningen-based designers. 
 
Compared to a standard pair of jeans, a pair of Spiekerboks jeans saves approximately 10,000 liters of water and 15 kg of CO2 emissions (depending on the model).
